This is Not a Love Spell

One of my all time favorite perfumes is a blueberry scent, though it isn't an edp and only lasts maybe 45 minutes so when I saw an actual edp with blueberry as a main scent I jumped at the chance to try it out.

Usually I get perfume oils because I like to brush them through my hair, and maybe that was my mistake. I know oils tend to be a little less powerful, but I've never had a situation where I couldn't smell them at all- that being said I've never specifically tried Sorce's perfume oils before, so maybe they're just significantly lighter than I'm used to? I also had the thought that maybe the oil had separated from the base and that maybe shaking it might help, but even that only produced the lightest hint of something vaguely sweet when trying to smell it out of the bottle. I did try it on skin too, just in case skin contact changed anything, but genuinely I could not smell this perfume at all. Maybe I got a fluke? Things seemed busy when my order was being packed but I have no idea.

The whole thing makes me very sad because the packaging is lovely, the way it was packed for shipping was excellently done and kept everything safe, and all of the samples I got (actual sprays this time) were amazing, and I feel bad rating a product so low when every other part of my experience with Sorce was excellent, I just can't give a perfume I can't smell higher than 1 star. If I order from Sorce again I might try getting a sample as a spray because I really, genuinely want to love this scent, it sounds perfect in theory for me, I just can't smell it at all as the oil.

I think it smells very lovely and I’m sure to get a lot of compliments, but the blueberry jam scent strikes me as a little cloying/artificial, almost like a very sweet lollipop. Once it dries down, though, the other notes start to express and the scent becomes much more full-bodied. Smells like having a slice of blueberry pie at a garden tea party.
